Thrift Farm Now Officially Re-Open

Having been saved from closure in 2019, Thrift Farm in Milton Keynes is delighted to announce that they are now back open.  Officially under new management, they have used the last few months to really press ahead with some exciting developments to provide even more of an experience for families and the Adult Social Care clients they provide a great service for.  During these preparations they have focused on making the necessary social distancing measures the ensure safety for their visitors. Booking must be made online in advance to manage visitor numbers,  one way systems are in place around the farm and hand sanitiser stations are everywhere.

Thrift Farm is on my list this summer so I look forward to sharing our experience with you but I have heard lovely things about the farm and it is obviously really highly regarded by the community after so many families rallied together to save them from closure.

The opening of the Farm Park on the 18th July was a huge success when families were able to try out the new attractions on the site including a brand new rustic outdoor play area and meet goats, cows, calves and sheep within the new Animal Contact Barn. They were also able to enjoy the new Paddock Walk and say hello to even more ponies, alpaca’s and sheep. The Food for Thought Café has also seen investment with an upgrade to Barista Style Coffee (always a bonus!) and a great menu.

Further developments for the farm are on the cards and will be finalised after the Summer following feedback from Thrift Farm’s Adult Social Care clients, the Thrift Team onsite and from visiting families.

Paul Sharp, new Director of Thrift Farm commented:

“ It is very exciting to open our doors again  Whilst we may have been closed, we have been very busy with stage one of our development plans.    In the new Animal Contact Barn, we’ve added cows and calves, we’ve also added a new outdoor play area, made from rustic wood.   Thrift Farm has always been about connecting with nature and we are very keen to retain this”.

Thrift Farm is located at Buckingham Road, Whaddon, Milton Keynes, MK17 0EQ

All visitors need to book online at www.Thrift-Farm.co.uk to enable restricted numbers for social distancing.  Prices are Adults (16 & over) £7.50, Children (18 months & over) £6.50 and Concessions £5.50.
