Dunstable Downs

Dunstable Downs, located in Dunstable, is a lovely place to visit. It has a lot to offer with a beautiful view, kite flying, nice walks and woods with a natural play ground.

They have facilities at the Gateway Centre including shop, cafe and toilets and there is a charge for parking but it is free for National Trust members.

At it is at the top of a hill if the weather is bad you can really feel it and if the sun is out there isn’t much in the way of shade but it really is great to go there, fly a kite and enjoy a picnic or a coffee. They sell kites int he shop but it could be a little more than you would pay elsewhere.

In Chute Woods, which is located on the left along the path from the car park, there is a natural play ground for children to play on. It isn’t far from the car park so is perfect for little legs but once you get into the woods the paths can get muddy and aren’t pushchair friendly after wet weather.

You could easily spend the whole day on the Downs for less than a fiver so its ideal if you want a full day out without spending too much money.
