Half Term Shows at Stantonbury Theatre in Milton Keynes

You may have noticed I have been to a few things at Stantonbury Theatre recently and I’m definitely a fan. It’s such a lovely space with a nice intimate atmosphere, it’s easy to get to and to park at and you can be confident that the shows are always of a great standard. After their amazing festive production of Red Riding Hood Versus The Wolf, Stantonbury Theatre has lined up three exciting family shows for half-term. If you aren’t off work as much as you would like over the half term you will be pleased to know that most of  their shows are on the weekends around half term :).

I’m loving the look of it from these pictures. They look so colourful and engaging!

Sunday 17th February

To launch the holiday, Michael Morpurgo’s much-loved Mimi And The Mountain Dragon is brought to the stage by Skewbald Theatre. A magical musical puppetry adventure adapted from the book by Michael Morpurgo and illustrated by Helen Stephens, the show follows the adventures of Mimi, a young girl who discovers a baby dragon sleeping in her woodshed. In a village terrified by the fearsome Mountain Dragon, how will Mimi return the baby to its mother at the castle at the top of the mountain?

With lively original songs, atmospheric storytelling and magical puppets Mimi and the Mountain Dragon is a perfect theatrical adventure for ages 3 and above.

On the Monday, another literary favourite comes to the stage with Engine House Theatre’s adaptation of Benji Davies’ award-winning book Grandad’s Island.
