Boo at the Zoo at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Get jitters with the critters Boo at the Zoo at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Saturday 19 October – Thursday 31 October 2019

We were invited to check out the half term Halloween attraction at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and had a really nice time. It was a lovely way to kick start the half term and is a great addition to the zoo this Halloween.

There is a short trail you can walk around (follow the signs to find the area but it is in the same place they usually run stuff in the zoo) where you can learn interesting facts about endangered and extinct animals and look at their Halloween displays before going in the marquee which has been really well decorated! it even has a spooky tunnel you have to go through when you arrive.

Some of the bits are offered at an additional cost but there are pumpkins to carve, free craft, face painting and mini safari cars (outside the marquee), They also hold a pumpkin party with games and dancing which looked really fun and spooky stories, The different bits are available at different times but there is always something on.

We were sad to miss the Ghoul School (see info below) as we have done simular at Christmas so that would be a great one to take part in! If you were looking for a fun filled family day make sure you head over.

Heres what they say

For hairy, but not too scary, Halloween fun, families can trick-or-treat themselves to a trip to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo for a special October half-term event, Boo at the Zoo.

From Saturday 19 to Thursday 31 October, the Zoo’s animals and visitors will be celebrating all things spooky, with a fang-tastic day out for the whole family to enjoy.

Fearless families can head to Ghoul School, where they can create devilishly delicious treats for the Zoo’s animals to enjoy, as well as making Creepy Crafts and Menacing Masks. They can also carve their own Petrifying Pumpkins, as well as transform into black cats, spiders and other Halloween creatures with the help of the Zoo’s Fearsome Face Painters.

Animal-lovers will enjoy the terrifying talks and devilish demonstrations that are sure to amaze even the cleverest little monsters. Little ogres can also try to match animals to their foul creations in the fun-filled game Poo at the Zoo.

Courageous kids can get behind the wheel of a Mini-Safari car to drive their way through the Extinct Species Graveyard and see if they can race to the end before another species becomes under threat.

At the end of each day, spirited youngsters can boogie away their last drops of energy disco dancing at the Pumpkin Party, and then settle down for a monstrously good tale at Boo at the Zoo Storytime.

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo is dead set to be a spooktacular day out.  Join in the fun from Saturday 19 to Thursday 31 October, and book your zoo tickets online now at
