How many times have you discussed your dreams with friends and family, or wished you could do something different with your life, but never had the courage to seize the moment and go for it? This was something that two local mums, Caroline Oden and Julia Cossins had faced many times before they decided to follow their dreams and set up Where Inspiration Blooms.

Both Caroline and Julia are avid crafters. They met at the school gates and shared their ideas for creating a space where people could meet up, learn new skills, practice yoga, drink tea, eat cake and make new friends. They took it from an idea to reality when they found the perfect venue to support their plan – a stunning barn, set in the grounds of Chartridge Lodge. The Barn is the ideal place to take time out of your busy life and find some space to clear your head, relax, unwind and feed your soul.

Caroline and Julia are planning to run a number of different courses and workshops at The Barn – these might be one-off classes or long-running courses. Knowing that one of their main audiences would be mums, Caroline and Julia have set up a crèche at The Barn*. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers will be looked after by experienced nannies, sourced through specialist local agency, Chiltern Childcare, while mums have a bit of well-deserved ‘me’ time.

Commenting on their new venue, Julia says, “We know that everyone is constantly rushing around trying to be everything to everyone and we wanted to give people an opportunity to press the pause button and take time for themselves. Where Inspiration Blooms gives people a chance to learn something new that makes them feel proud. We want people to leave feeling refreshed, nurtured and inspired.”

Caroline adds, “We are offering workshops and courses for both parents and children and also for families to share together. We want to create a space where everyone can come and feel relaxed. We are also hiring out The Barn and its grounds for private parties – offering people the chance to create the celebration of their dreams. If people want a wedding, or party with a difference, The Barn is the perfect venue.”

Where Inspiration Blooms is firmly committed to limiting its impact on the environment and is passionate about supporting other local independent businesses.   A range of delicious home-made cakes will be provided by Amersham-based The Angelic Cake Company and all the beautiful fresh flowers are grown on-site by The Hidden Gate Blooms.
